History

Known chiefly as Diana, Artemis was the Goddess of the Moon and lived in her sacred temple on the moon itself. The forests surrounding her temple were populated by her Moon Nymphs who protected the regions with their arsenal of lasso spears and lasso arrows. In 1943, Mars, the God of War, captured Diana and enslaved her nymphs. He forced them to take up arms against Wonder Woman in one of Mars' neverending plots to subject the Amazon to his oppressive rule. Wonder Woman (along with the reformed Paula von Gunther) flew to the moon via their Sky Kanga and freed Diana from Mars' clutches.
