Synopsis for "The Sell-Out!"
An old friend of Judge Irwin Hall's named Frank Heinsite is running for mayor of the town of Elmond. Heinsite boasts an even more conservative view against vigilantism than Judge Hall and openly denounces the actions of super-heroes such as the Hawk and the Dove.
Meanwhile, a local artist named Warren Savin is found murdered. Elmond police officials begin questioning everyone who knew the deceased, including his former friend, Don Hall. Don begins investigating Warren's mysterious death.
Hawk meanwhile discovers that a number of robbery attempts have been made at a local art museum. He investigates the scene of the crime, only to discover that nothing has actually been taken.
Before long, Hawk and Dove discover that their respective mysterious are in fact related to one another. They learn that Frank Heinsite is secretly responsible for stealing valuable works of art and replacing them with clever forgeries. Warren Savin had discovered Heinsite's operation and threatened to expose him to the local authorities. Heinsite killed Savin in order to keep his secret safe. Hawk and Dove expose Heinsite's illegal activities, ending the man's political career.
