History

A leader in the study of bats, Kirk Langstrom attempted to create a serum that would allow humans to use the supersonic echolocation abilities of bats. He hoped that the drug could be used to help deaf patients, and suffering from hearing loss himself, he was the first person to test the serum. While the drug was a success, it also transformed Kirk into a giant human bat. Sadly, as Man-Bat, Kirk lost most of his ability to reason and think clearly. Through the years, Man-Bat has been temporarily cured several times, but he always loses control once again. Still, Kirk has found a way to let himself retain his human intelligence, and for a while he could even control his transformations. During this time, he became a small time crime fighter. Recently, the bat seems to have proven his domination over Kirk and Man-Bat reigns supreme.
